A Study of the Connection of the Four Paths for Accomplishment (Tipitaka Studies)

Abstract

The purposes of this research are; 1) to study the Four Paths of Success that appear in the Tipitaka, 2) to study the connection of the four Paths of success for accomplishment, 3) to study and analize the Four Paths of Success.  Qualitative and Documentary Research was used for this study. The researcher searched the information from the Tipitaka Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, commentaries, books and other related works. The result of study shows as

 

1) The characteristics of the Four Paths of Success for Accomplishment comprises Chanda; love of work, Viriya; tenacity, Citta: dedication Vimaṁsā: circumspection. The practice of meditation is to tranquil mind and removes all defilements, and gain the freedom of spirit and mind, ends with obtaining enlightment and also achieving some supernatural aspects.  

2) The Four Paths of Success should come together in mutual conditionality and hierachchical  dependence as, Chanda; Love of work, Viriya; tenacity, Citta; dedication, Vimaṁsā; circumspection without the absence of any and of mutually firmly support of each, canlead to accomplishment efficiently and effectively according to Buddha’s Teaching.

3) The study shows that the lack of Chanda, Viriya, Citta, Vimaṁsā can make one fail to reach the goal of success and directly result in the differences of attitude behavior and belief among the individuals. Between the successful and the unsuccessful the substantial causes are from the visualization and realization the Four Paths of Success for accomplishment.
